MONTH IN REVIEW: March 2026

Hey, I’m remembering to do my Month in Review this time! March was actually a pretty decent month for me reading-wise, so let’s get into it.

March Reads

  • Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
  • On Sundays She Picked Flowers by Yah Yah Scholfield
  • Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
  • How to Kill a Witch by Zoe Venditozzi & Claire Mitchell
  • We Who Will Die by Stacia Stark
  • The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden

Six books in a month is pretty good for me nowadays! Of course, having a roadtrip to listen to an audiobook helped, but still, I am very happy with how this went.

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: My goal was to read 52 books this year. At the end of March, I am sitting at 14 books completed, which is 2 books ahead of schedule! Yay! In addition to that, I was very happy to complete all 12 achievements in their Winter Challenge. Double yay!

GoodReads Choice Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all of the winners of the GoodReads Choice Awards from last year. In March, I added one more to this challenge with How to Kill a Witch, the winner of the Best History/Biography Award, bringing my total books read to 3 out of 13. Not bad!

Beat the Backlist: I finally started this one! In March, I added two squares to my bingo board: I Reject Your Reality (Piranesi) and Blast From the Past (The Bear and the Nightingale).

Blog Updates

Blogging has slowed down a little, but hasn’t stopped completely. The main thing I really need to do is catch up on reviews. Isn’t that always the way? Here’s how blogging went in March:

  • Month in Review: 1
  • Top Ten Tuesday: 5
  • WWW Wednesday: 4
  • Book Blogger Hop: 2
  • Sunday Post: 1
  • Review: 1

14 posts in all. Not too bad, quite consistent actually, but again, I really want to get caught up on reviews.

Shop Updates

As I mentioned before, Tabby Cat Textiles is sort of on hold right now while I make some more things and find some things to sell in the warmer months. I’m also working to make a good stock of stuff to offer once fall and winter comes back around. I did manage to make two sales in March though, which was cool. One was for a friend who commissioned a custom order and the other was a random person from New Jersey who somehow found me. Very, very grateful to both of them. It always makes my heart happy when I see that notifaction pop up on my Etsy app!

Here’s the most recent thing I’ve finished. I love this pattern and have several of them on my shop right now, but this one is made with this really pretty rainbow yarn. I love all the colors. It’s not quite available yet – I still need to photograph it properly and write up the listing – but it will be soon!

Overall, March felt like a really positive month for me on the blog, in reading, and in crafting. It’s nice to have some stable things that make me feel good when there is so much chaos in the world.
