Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s teaser is from The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa, book #1 in the Iron Fey:Call of the Forgotten trilogy.
“As usual, you mortals have not the slightest ability to see what is right in front of your faces,” continued the voice in a bored tone, and I thought I heard a yawn. “Very well, humans. Up here, if you would.”
This character was one of my absolute favorites in the first series and I’m so glad he’s back for this one!!!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:
Ten Best Books I Read in 2025
Oof, this is a hard one. I read so many good books last year! After looking through my GoodReads shelf, I think I can narrow it down to ten, but there were so many other ones. Here’s my selection:
- The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon
- None of This is True by Lisa Jewell
- Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross
- Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins
- Apostles of Mercy by Lindsay Ellis
- The Lost Girls of Willowbrook by Ellen Marie Wiseman
- The Women by Kristin Hannah
- The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
- The House On the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
- The Wedding People by Alison Espach
Honorable mentions to When We Were Silent by Fiona McPhillips and the Crescent City series by Sarah J. Maas.
No surprise that many of these were from my GoodReads Choice Awards challenge – there was a reason why those books won! I’m also really happy at how I’ve diversified my genres. My reading used to be almost exclusively fantasy or other speculative fiction, but last year almost a quarter of my reads were other genres, particulary mysteries, thrillers or historical fiction. It may have been more if not for my “Complete the Series” challenge, as most of the series on there were fantasy. Hopefully I will continue to branch out this year as well.

The God of the Woods sounds good.
It was SO GOOD!
I loved The Frozen River, House on the Cerulean Sea, and The Wedding People. The God of the Woods is on my TBR.
It was really good too. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
