WWW Wednesday – September 3, 2025

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

That word “recently” is doing a lot of heavy lifting, since I haven’t posted a WWW in almost a month and haven’t read much in that time. Between a depression-induced reading slump and working on a new project (more on that later), I haven’t made reading a priority at all. As such, I am officially changing my GoodReads goal from 75 books this year down to 65. 75 is just not going to happen.

All that said, from my last WWW post on August 6th, I have finished The Conjurer and The Glamourist by Luanne G. Smith. These are the last two books in the Vine Witch trilogy, which completed that series and was the 7th series completed this year. That’s one reading challenge finished! Very excited about that!

What are you currently reading?

I needed something fresh to cleanse my palate and get back into reading. I’ve been enjoying mysteries and thrillers lately, so I turned to None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell. I got this book from a book swap my book club did for Halloween last year, where we traded books that had a spooky vibe, whether it was horror or thrillers or anything else along those lines. Plus, and this is something I didn’t know until recently, GoodReads has other challenges besides the regular reading goal. This book meets the “Poolside Puzzlers” challenge, where you have to read a book from the “Readers’ 75 Most Popular Mysteries & Thrillers of the Past Three Years” list somewhere betwee July 1st and September 14th. There are a few other challenges like this, with different ones unlocking throughout the year. I wish I had been paying more attention at the beginning of the year, since they do have time limits, but it’s been fun looking through some of these lists. I’ve even saved several of them to look over later.

A very long-winded explanation, but hey, have you met me?

What do you think you’ll read next?

Ugh, the eternal question, and one that I’m not sure of the answer yet. I might take a book off of one of the other GoodReads challenges, or might find another one off my Awards list from last year. Or I might just pull something random from my TBR. I really have no idea where I will go next. The sky’s the limit!

That’s my reading for the week!
