April was a bit of a weird month, full of ups and downs, both blog-wise and other. Still, I managed to make a fair bit of progress. Let’s see how things went, shall we?
April Reads

- Lion Heart by A.C. Gaughen
- The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop
- These Broken Stars by Amie Kauffman and Meagan Spooner
- This Shattered World by Amie Kauffman and Meagan Spooner
- All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers
- Their Fractured Light by Amie Kauffman and Meagan Spooner
Counting the one book I couldn’t quite finish in March, I’ve read six books for April. That’s about the pace I need to keep up with my GoodReads goal, so all in all, this was a pretty good month. Speaking of goals . . .
Challenge Updates
GoodReads Challenge: My goal is to read 75 books this year. I am currently sitting at 25 books read. A third of the way through my goal and a third of the way through the year. So I’m keeping on track, which is good. The only thing that bothers me a little is that this is the first month that I’m not ahead of schedule. I lost my lead, but I’m not behind yet, so that’s a good thing.
GoodReads Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all 14 of the winners of 2024’s GoodReads Choice Awards. The Third Gilmore Girl won for Best Memoir. That brings my total of books read up to two. I’m not making a lot of progress on this one, but I did just purchase several of these books at our local used bookstore, so I expect to make a lot more progress in the coming months.
Complete the Series Challenge: My goal was to complete seven series that I have not finished (you can see my list here). With officially finishing the Scarlet series by A.C. Gaughen and finishing the Starbound series by Amie Kauffman and Meagan Spooner, I am now at FIVE SERIES COMPLETED! I am so excited about this, since this has been a difficult challenge for me in the past. Fairly confident that I’ll achieve this goal by year end.
Blog Updates
Like I said previously, April was a bit of a weird month. I went through bouts of being super productive followed by days of feeling like a slug. Still managed to post 18 times, which is actually more than I thought I did. That’s actually not too bad. Here’s the breakdown.
- Month in Review: 1
- Teaser/Top Ten Tuesday: 3
- WWW Wednesday: 4
- Book Blogger Hop: 3
- Sunday Post: 1
- Reviews: 6
Still a fair number of reviews, so I’m happy with that. I’m also hoping to fully bring back Sunday Posts going forward. It’s a nice way to update how I’m doing other than just what I’m reading.
Overall, April was a weird month. I was in a weird head space for a large portion of it. I’m hoping that things even out for May.

April wasn’t a weird month for me
Reading- one again still at 2 books finished. In April, still couldn’t finish the 3rd book (“Somewhere Beyond the Sea” was started pretty much near the end of Jan.)- when I attempt Kindle books, they seem to like longer than I think
