Book Blogger Hop is a weekly feature hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week, a new book related question is posted and everyone can share their answers. This week’s question is:
Sometimes, readers get into funks and maybe stop reading or feel like reading is work. What do you do to get yourself out of a reading funk?
First off, hello! I’ve been neglecting the blog over the past week or so – I’ve been a little sick. Nothing major, mostly allergies that have turned into sinus headaches. Super fun. But I’m finally feeling better now, thank ye gods.
Now, on to the question at hand. Boy oh boy, do I get into reading funks. Some of them have lasted YEARS! It’s not even that I feel like reading is a chore, it’s just that sometimes, if I’m really stressed, I can’t focus on a book. That’s when the doomscrolling on social media typically takes over because it’s mindless, instant gratification.
To get out of reading slumps, I usually try to start slow. Pick a book that I already know and like and just read a chapter or two each day. Most of the time, that’s all it takes, although it can sometimes take a while. It just have to be patient and sink back into it.
Be sure to check out the other answers of this week’s Book Blogger Hop and let me know what you do to get out of reading slumps!

I hope that you continue to get better. This sounds like a good idea.
