Book Blogger Hop is a weekly feature hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week, a new book related question is posted and everyone can share their answers. This week’s question is:
Have you ever asked yourself, “Why did I buy this book?”
This question makes me laugh!
In all honesty, this question would have been a lot more applicable years ago. It used to be that when I would go to a book store, I would look for what I originally came to shop for, but then browse the new releases and the display tables and, occasionally, just pick up something that looked interesting. Either it had a cool cover or an unusual title. Maybe an author I had heard of but hadn’t read, or maybe something that had some buzz around the blogosphere. I’m sure there were several times that I found something on my bookshelf and wondered where the heck it came from.
Unfortunately, I don’t buy as many books as I used to and, when I do, they are almost always eBooks. They also aren’t usually spur-of-the-moment purchases, but books that are either sequels to something I was already reading, something for book club, or something otherwise planned. The spontaneity is gone! It’s sad, in a way. Maybe I should head over to B&N and look for something. I have gift cards!
Be sure to check out the other answers of this week’s Book Blogger Hop and let me know if you’ve ever asked yourself this question!
