This round up is going to include one audio book that I listened to in the beginning of November, just because it was the end of the series I was listening to and I’m not planning on listening to anything else this month. Might as well consolidate.
Clockwork Princess
Author: Cassandra Clare
Narrator: Daniel Sharman
As I’ve said before, the Shadowhunter books have had a plethora of narrators for their audio books. For me, there was a lot of hit and miss, but Sharman is probably right in the middle, maybe the top of the middle. He has a very pleasant voice and I think he did really well giving each character a unique voice and cadence. Since I’m taking a break from Cassandra Clare, this was a really nice one to end on . . . for right now, anyway.

The Gemma Doyle Trilogy
Titles: A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, The Sweet Far Thing
Author: Libba Bray
Narrator: Josephine Bailey
I absolutely loved this one. For starters, after all the chaos of the Shadowhunter narrators, it was nice to get back to having one narrator for an entire series. It gave the story and the characters a consistency that I think I was missing. Bailey is a great narrator, capturing the silliness of finishing school girls along with the seriousness of what’s happening in the Realms. Plus, I really appreciated when the text would say that someone “giggled” or “yawned” when speaking a line, Bailey actually did so. It made the dialogue feel much more real and personal.
