What did you recently finish reading?

Since last week, I finished listening to A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. It had been so long since I read that one the first time (in 2014, I think?) and I’m so surprised that I hadn’t done a re-read of it since. It’s such a good book! I also finished The Vicious Circle by Katherine St. John. This was the pick for book club this month and (be proud of me) . . . I actually made it to the meeting this past Sunday! It had been a really long time – I think the last meeting I went to was in March. Whoops. I really had fun with it and definitely need to be sure to keep going. The book was also really good. What are you currently reading?

Currently listening to Rebel Angels by Libba Bray, the second book in the Gemma Doyle trilogy. I’m so glad they kept the same narrator for this one. Is that the norm? Was the Shadowhunter books shuffling around narrators an anomaly? In any case, the narrator for this series is great. I’ll get more into that when I do my Audio Round Up post for this month. I’ve also finally started Fallen by Lauren Kate and, so far, I’m really enjoying it. I think I can sort of see where it’s going, but I’ve also been completely wrong before. So we’ll see.

What do you think you’ll read next?

The nice thing about series is that you know the answer to this question right away, at least for the moment. I am definitely going to be listening to The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray. It’s already queued up and ready to go once I finish Rebel Angels. I’m also going to check out the next book in the Fallen series with Torment by Lauren Kate. This is a five book series, which is a lot to commit to, especially when you’re trying to work towards other reading goals. I am enjoying the first book though, so I will probably at least check out the second one to see if I want to keep going. My plan right now is to try and finish both of my current reads in the next few days and then jump into these new ones at the beginning of next month. November. How is it already November???
