WWW Wednesday – September 4, 2024

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished up August with my current reads from last week. I finished up the ARC of Songlight by Moira Buffini and it was so so so so good! I can’t wait for the next book in this series. It needs to come out now. My review should be up next week, so keep an eye out for that. I also finished listening to Unhinged by A.G. Howard and, while I’m still having issues with the narrator, I am still enjoying the listening experience. I plan on having my Audio Round Up post out tomorrow, and I’ll go into more detail then.

What are you currently reading?

The holiday weekend got away from me a bit (a.k.a. I was really tired and felt like I was sleepwalking through most of it), so I am starting three books as of today. I will be listening to Ensnared by A.G. Howard, just to round out the series. I am also starting The Athena Protocol by Shamim Sarif, the next series I am looking to complete for my challenge. I think there are only two books, so I just have to reread this one and then read the next one. Finally, I am reading the next book in Ezeekat’s Book Club over on Fable with The Will of the Many by James Islington. I know nothing about this book or this author, but that’s half the fun, isn’t it! I will be reading this one probably throughout the month, just to keep in line with the club’s timeline, so it will show up in current reads for a while.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I will definitely be reading The Shadow Mission by Shamim Sarif in order to finish out that series (although I’m not sure if there are any other books coming later – GoodReads doesn’t list any, not even a placeholder). After that, I need to pick another audio book series to reread. I’m leaning towards going for Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. I took a short break from Shadowhunters and I’m reading to dive back in. The problem is that the wait times at my library for the audio books is pretty long. I may not get it in time to start reading it after I finish Ensnared, but I’ve put my hold request in, so we’ll see. If I don’t get it, I’ll either take a break from audio books until it gets here or go in another direction.

That’s my reading for the week!

  1. The Athena Protocol is certainly an intriguing title. Looks like a good reading week!

  2. PS – I love your blog title!

  3. A narrator can really make or break a book!

  4. That series of Shadowhunters is my favourite out of that and The Mortal Instruments so fingers crossed you get it soon 😂

A good mix of books there. It’s nice when you really enjoy a book 😊

    Have a great week!
