The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap what’s happened at the blog, and talk about things coming up. Let’s go!
Weekly Wrap Up
Not gonna lie – I am tired this week. We are getting ready to go into our busiest time of year and it’s starting to ratchet up now. I work at a bakery, so you can imagine that the holidays are quite hectic, but we also have a very large fundraising program. That’s mostly what I work with. You know how, for example, school sports teams go around and sell stuff to raise money for uniforms or whatnot? We have a program where you can sell our stuff the same way. The main part of my job is working with different groups to get their fundraisers set up and then get their invoices and profit sheets together once their finished. We work with schools, churches, scout troops, community sports leagues – you name it. Since schools just started back up around here, people are already reaching out to get their fundraisers set up. I had ten registrations last week, mostly within two days, and that’s a lot for this early.
I love this part of my job, don’t get me wrong. It’s extremely rewarding and feels really good knowing that I’m helping people and being a positive part of our local community. I also greatly prefer being busy at work to being slow. But I was not ready for the influx to start this early – hadn’t mentally prepared for it yet. Hence the tiredness. I’m also trying to keep up my hours working on the retail side, so there have been a few weeks where I have worked six days a week. Love the extra paycheck, but it’s a lot. I actually requested to take tomorrow off just to have an extra day to regroup. I think that will help.
Enough about work, let’s talk about fun stuff. Hubby and I are continuing with our boardgame challenge for this year. Yesterday, we played Castled of Mad King Ludwig, Pandemic, and Space Base. We are aiming for 100 plays this year over a selected list of games and we’re a bit behind, but catching up. Kiddo and I also decided to get back into playing Minecraft together again, which was super fun. We have some worlds set up on Realms, a survival one and a creative one. Tomorrow, Mom and I get to indulge in our BTS obsession some more, catching up on the episode of Are You Sure? that we missed last week and watching the new episode of Run Jin on YouTube, plus catching up on any other news. Hobi gets out of the military in less than two months!

Wow if I worked at a bakery I would put on the pounds, but it must smell heavenly. Great to hear you are getting in some games and fun to take some time for yourself.

I knew I would be in trouble my first day, when one of the owners (an older, motherly lady) came into the room and handed me a cranberry orange muffin and said, “These just came out of the oven, you have to try them!” She proceeded to do the same thing that week with both a croissant and a chocolate chip cookie. It’s wonderful, but it does take a lot of willpower!
Good luck with the busy time! I requested today off work for the same reason. Labor Day week is coming, and I needed a nap before the chaos.
Exactly! Hope your busy week goes well!
Sounds like a fun but hectic week! I love hearing about couples and families that do fun things together, like your board games and stuff.
Gotta set aside some time for fun. Life is too serious most of the time.
