WWW Wednesday – August 21, 2024

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

Since last week, I wrapped up listening to the Mortal Instruments series with City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. It had been a while since I had read these and, boy – does this one pack a punch right in the feels. Cassie is so good at doing that. I’m also excited because I finished Beauty and the Werewolf by Mercedes Lackey, the sixth and final book of the Five Hundred Kingdoms series. You know what that means . . . I get to check off another series from my “Complete the Series” challenge! Huzzah!

What are you currently reading?

I started listening to Splintered by A.G. Howard for my next audio book re-read. I love this series but, so far, I’m not sure about this narrator. I do know that she narrates the entire series for this one, so I won’t have the weird issue I did with the Mortal Instruments and their six different narrator styles. I had planned to start another series off my list, but then I got a notification from NetGalley that a book was listed as a “Read Now” selection – and it sounded really interesting. That’s how I started reading Songlight by Moira Buffini. It’s the first book in a new trilogy, coming out in a few weeks. Yay! Also, still reading The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst. Hoping to finish that one up in the next few days. It’s been delightful so far!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Since I’m in another audio book series, I will definitely be listening to Unhinged by A.G. Howard. And since I didn’t start it this time, I will start The Athena Protocol by Shamim Sarif. That’s one that I really want to re-read and I really want to read the second book.

  1. Splintered! I remember reading that when it came out. I adored that series!

  2. The Spellshop is wonderfully delightful, I’m glad you’re enjoying it! 😀

  3. Yay for finishing a series! I wonder why there were so many different narrators for The mortal instruments.

Your current and upcoming reads look good.

    Have a great week!
