Blurb: Time is running out for Hannah. With her life hanging by a thread and Tate trying to kidnap her, she finds help in an unusual quarter – the man who put the narcoleptic memory block on her as a child. Yet the powerful hypnotist may not be all that he seems. It’s difficult to trust a man who regularly hypnotizes his wife against her wishes, and who is much too interested in Jack’s unnatural abilities.
With so much at stake, the last thing Hannah and Jack need is to be apart. Yet they cannot touch each other if they want to stay alive.
This thrilling conclusion to the 1st Freak House Trilogy will take you on an emotional roller coaster full of twists, turns, highs and lows that you won’t want to end.
Review
Such a good ending to this trilogy! I’ve never read anything by C.J. Archer before, but she has a whole bunch of books and I definitely want to read more. I think I have some more of her stuff on my Beat the Backlist list, so yay!
I love how well paced these books have been. There have been just enough reveals to keep the reader engaged, but also plenty of mysteries and questions that make you want to keep going. I loved finally finding out the truth of Hannah’s parentage, as well as getting more of Jack’s story. There was also the ticking clock of the fire slowly taking Hannah over. She has to take risks, she has to at least consider letting Tate do his experiments, because what choice does she have? She’s literally burning alive from the inside out.
There are two other Freak House trilogies. I’m not sure where they fall into the timeline of this one, but I may check them out one day. I hope there is at least some continuing of this story. Jack and Hannah’s story may be mostly finished, but there are other characters that I would love to know more about. There has been something going on between Sylvia and Tommy. I also want to know more about Samuel. A prequel with Langley and Tate would also be really cool. I just really enjoyed being in this world. Victorian England with a weird, paranormal twist. What’s not to like?
