WWW Wednesday – June 26, 2024

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

Made really good progress last week. I finished reading A Tale Dark and Grimm by Adam Gidwitz. I had forgotten just how funny that book is. I looked back and I did actually review that one years ago when I first read it – you can check that out here. I also finished the sequel, In a Glass Grimmly by Adam Gidwitz. It’s not really a sequel, since these books don’t really have a continuous story. It’s just more fractured fairy tales and so much fun to read. On top of that, I also finished listening to City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I knew I was going to enjoy that one, but it was really, really good.

What are you currently reading?

As promised from last week, I am reading the final Grimm book, The Grimm Conclusion by Adam Gidwitz. Once I finish that one, I can check it off from my “Complete the Series” challenge, so yay! I should finish it in the next day or two. I’m also listening to the next Mortal Instruments book, City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. It’s pretty good so far, although they switched narrators from book one, which I thought was weird. The series I’ve listened to so far always kept the same one throughout. They’re both good, I’m just surprised at the lack of consistency.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Starting off with the obvious, I will definitely be listening to City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. I already have that one checked out from my library, so it’s ready to go. I am so excited about the next book I’m going to read because it’s a NetGally ARC! That’s right, I’m back to requesting stuff from NetGalley again! I had stopped because since I wasn’t keeping up with the blog as well as I would like, that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with ARCs and blog tours and such. I’m doing so much better with that now, so I felt like it was time. I requested and got accepted for Heir by Sabaa Tahir! I absolutely loved An Ember in the Ashes, so to say that I’m super stoked to read this one would be an understatement. The release date isn’t until October, but I’m going to go ahead and read it and write up my review now just so I’ll have it.

That’s my reading for the week!

  1. Finished- A Wrinkle in Time

Currently- Sea of Trolls #1 (yes, a reread but doing the entire trilogy)

    Next- Sea of Trolls #2

  2. How strange to change the narrator. The series is good though! That Grimm series sounds good.

I don’t request from Netgalley often and recently have been ignored by so many publishers that I thought that there was a problem with my account! Apparently there isn’t 😂

    Have a great week!
