Weekly Wrap Up – June 21, 2024

Ah, the end of another week. This year feels like it’s going by so fast. It’s almost halfway over!

Honestly, it’s been a difficult few weeks, mostly because my daughter is struggling right now. She made the decision to take a semester off from college and, while it’s the right decision for her mental health, it’s still hard. I know she misses it. Luckily, she was going to the local community college, so it will be fairly easy for her to get back to it once she’s ready. Still, it’s really hard watching her struggle, knowing that now she’s (technically) an adult and needs to be responsible for her own choices. My inner mama bear wants to run out and fix everything, to protect her (even though she’s bigger than me and tougher than I ever was). Comes with the territory of being a parent, I suppose.

Work is going well, other than being reeeeaaaally slow. It’s annoying to some degree (I much prefer being busy) but also a nice respite before our busy season begins in the fall. Is it bad that I’m already looking forward to it? I don’t think the official first day of summer has even happened yet, and I’m already done with it. It’s been so hot lately! I much prefer the crisp, breeziness of autumn, watching the leaves turn, and feeling the world take a deep breath. It’s my favorite time of year. I just need to get through the blazing hot first.

I’ve been keeping up better with the blog, which I’m very happy about. If you have followed me for any length of time, you know that I can sometimes be very spotty with updates, but I think I’ve finally found a good method that works for me. I’m hoping to keep this up.

I will leave you with a picture of my cat sleeping on her cat tree. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Sophie says hello. Or would, if she was awake.
