WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!
What did you recently finish reading?
I finished my current read from last week, The Annihilation of Foreverland by Tony Bertauski. It was really, really good. According to GoodReads, it was the first book in a trilogy, but when I looked into it, the other books were more like adjacent stories or prequel stories. Since this book felt like a pretty contained narrative, I’m not going to continue with the series at this point. It really looks like they are three standalone novels that are tied together in the same universe instead of one continuous story. This was another book off of “Beat the Backlist,” so that’s exciting!

What are you currently reading?
I decided to pick up another book for my “Complete the Series” challenge and started A Tale Dark and Grimm by Adam Gidwitz. This is more of a middle grade book, maybe leaning into younger YA. It was actually a book series that my daughter loved when she was a bit younger. We even got to meet the author at YallFest one year. I read the first book but never read the other two, so this should be fun. All kinds of fractured fairy tale goodness.
I also got back on my audio book wagon and am listening to City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I had it on hold on Libby and it finally released on Monday. It’s been a few years since I’ve read the original Mortal Instruments books, so I’m looking forward to this.

What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m back in series mode, which makes this question a lot easier. I will read In a Glass Grimmly by Adam Gidwitz and listen to City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare.

That’s my reading for the week!

Finished- A Wrinkle a Time
Currently (depends if a entire series counts)- Sea of Trolls
I love A Wrinkle in Time! One of my favorites!
I really need to read my TBR Shelves. Ive started the 20 Books of Summer Challenge to try and get some read 😂
I enjoyed The Mortal Instruments series. I have to say that I preferred The Infernal Devises slightly more but it was close! I need to read the next series.
Have a great week!

I’ve read those too, and will probably listen to them after finishing Mortal Instruments. I had forgotten just how wonderful it is to sink into the Shadowhunter world!
Yes, I do enjoy the writing. And I have to admit that I enjoyed the TV series too 😂
