Did things improve from March going into April? Eh, not so much. Not going to make excuses, just giving myself some grace since I’ve been going through some stuff. Here’s how April shook out.
April Reads
- Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor
- Magician’s Gambit by David Eddings
- The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
- Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings
Another month with only four reads. I will definitely need to pick up the pace at some point, but as I said, life is still kicking my butt right now, so I am just going to be glad I at least got some reading done.
I think this is part of what frustrates me the most, having so many days where I didn’t read at all. The lack of motivation is very frustrating, but I blame the depression.
Thank goodness for audio books and the fact that I can listen at work!
Challenge Updates
GoodReads Challenge: My goal this year was to read 75 books. I am currently sitting at 24, which according to GoodReads is still one behind schedule. That’s not too bad. Still plenty of time to catch up.
Complete the Series: My goal this year was to complete six of the nineteen series that I haven’t completed yet. I didn’t complete another series in April, but I did reread the first book in the Shades of London series by Maureen Johnson to work on finishing up that one. I have recently found out that although there are three books currently in that series, that it is not a complete series – there should be a fourth book coming out at some point. I have finished book #2 in the beginning of May and I’m reading book #3 right now, so I’m still going to count this one as complete as I have not been able to find any info on a book #4 coming out.
Beat the Backlist: My goal this year was to read 25 books off of my owned TBR. No progress made on this one this month.
A-to-Z Challenge: No letters added to this one either.
There’s a whole lot of nothing going on with these right now. I need to get back to them at some point.
Blog Updates
The good news is that I did post in April! Not much, but I posted! I was here! And it was more than I posted in March, so that’s progress!
I had six posts, as follows:
- One Month in Review
- One Audio Roundup
- One Teaser/Top Ten Tuesday Combo
- Two WWW Wednesday
- One Review
I at least got one review in, so that makes me happy.
Was April a good month? No. Was it better than March? Yes. Will May be better? I really hope so, even if it’s gotten off to a shaky start.
