I realized as I was getting ready to write up my reviews for my March audio books that I never posted anything about the ones I listened to in February. Which works out well since I didn’t listen to very many in March.

Paper Towns
Author: John Green
Narrator: Dan John Miller
Original review can be found here.
This is my favorite John Green book and I will admit that I was a little apprehensive to see whether or not Miller would be able to capture Quentin’s character. Green has a specific voice in his writing and I was really looking forward to see how Miller would do it. He immediately put my fears to rest. I loved how he portrayed Quentin, but also thought that his voice acting for Ben and Radar was also top notch. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Going Bovine
Author: Libba Bray
Narrator: Erik Davies
If I was worried about Miller capturing the voice of Quentin in Paper Towns, I was doubly worried about Davies doing the same for Cameron in Going Bovine. This book is super weird. I mean that in a good way! But there are so many strange, outlandish characters on top of the main character’s snarky, sardonic outlook on life. Davies did an excellent job with all of that and it was really fun trying to guess how he was going to do certain characters.

The Night Circus
Author: Erin Morgenstern
Narrator: Jim Dale
Original review can be found here.
I love this book so much and, once I saw who the narrator was going to be, I was so excited to listen to it. Dale is such a superb choice for this one – his voice is already so magical and it really brought the entire circus and everyone in it to life. This was a lot of fun to listen to, since my husband and I listened together while we were on a road trip (he really likes this book, too). We didn’t quite finish it on the trip, so for the next few days after we got home, he had to come into my office so we could continue listening together. Neither one of us wanted it to stop!

Pawn of Prophecy and Queen of Sorcery

Author: David Eddings
Narrator: Cameron Beierle
I’m just going to review both of these together since they are not just the same author, but also the same narrator. I believe Beierle narrates all of the Belgariad and Mallorean series, so I’m glad that I really like him so far! I really like the different accents he is using for each of the different countries in this world. It really brings not just the characters, but the enter story world to life. My only quibble with it is that occasionally, especially in the first book, some of the accents weren’t quite consistent. They shifted around just a bit, but the second book has been a lot better.
