WWW Wednesday – April 10, 2024

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

I had to go back to my last WWW post, which was back on March 20th, to see what all I was working on back then. Since that post, I finished Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan. This was our book club pick for March and I enjoyed it a lot. I also finished listening to Queen of Sorcery by David Eddings and finally, FINALLY, finished Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. Why did I struggle so much with that book? I have no idea. It was really, really good, and when I did sit down to read it, I enjoyed what I read, but it still took almost the entire month of March for me to finish it. No explanation whatsoever.

I’ve also finished a couple more books as well, these more recent. I listenedd to Magician’s Gambit by David Eddings and I read Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. Muse is the sequel to Strange and for some reason, it was much easier for me to get into. Not sure why. I’ve been really enjoying listening to the David Eddings books as well. It had been a while since I read them and rereading them in a new way has made me appreciate them even more.

What are you currently reading?

I wanted to try and knock another series off my “Complete the Series” challenge, so I decided to read The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson. It’s the first book in her Shades of London trilogy. I’ve read books one and two, so why didn’t I read book three? No idea. I remember really liking the first books but, then again, I usually like most things Maureen Johnson writes. I’m looking forward to reading this again and actually finishing it this time.

What do you think you’ll read next?

You may have noticed that the next David Eddings book is not on my current reads list right now. That’s because the audio book is checked out right now at my local library. I’ve placed a hold and it says I should get it in about two weeks, but it will probably show up well before then. So hopefully soon, I will be listening to Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings. I also plan to read the next Shades of London book, The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson. Reading series takes some of the suspense out of announcing what I’m reading next, but it’s also nice to not have to decide what to read since the decision is kind of already made for you.

  1. Interesting looking books. It’s funny when you like a book but it still takes forever to read. I get that sometimes. Finley Donovan was one that took me ages. I have the second one to read at some point.

    Have a great week!
