Teasers & Top Tens – February 27, 2024

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week’s teaser comes from The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.

Nineteen years before she decided to die, Nora Seed sat in the warmth of the small library at Hazeldene School in the town of Bedford. She started at a chessboard on a low table.

Yep, not the book I originally thought I was going to be reading, but sometimes plans change! I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while, so I’m looking forward to it.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:

Ten Titles With Things Found in Nature

I always like these types of topics because it’s fun to look back and see what I’ve read and different ways to tie books together.

These are all from the books that I read in 2023.

  1. Mosquitoland by David Arnold (mosquito)
  2. Heart of the Sun Warrior by Sue Lynn Tan (sun)
  3. Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson (winter)
  4. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (roses)
  5. The Night Parade by Kathryn Tanquary (night)
  6. The Box in the Woods by Maureen Johnson (woods)
  7. Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel (sea)
  8. Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott (bird)
  9. Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson & Lauren Myracle (snow)
  10. Shadowstorm by Dianne Sylvan (storm)

Please leave your teasers and top tens in comments!
