WWW Wednesday – December 6, 2023

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

Sigh.

The problem with taking so long between posts is that I have a ton of stuff that I’ve finished since the last time I did this a month ago. In that month, I managed to finish my A-to-Z Reading Challenge by reading You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day, Mosquitoland by David Arnold, XOXO by Axie Oh, and The Key to the Golden Firebird by Maureen Johnson. Two rereads and two new books. I really wanted to focus on getting this challenge done before focusing on my last challenge, Beat the Backlist. I’ll get to that one this month.

I also re-read The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, just because it had been a while and I missed it. Plus, I don’t know if it’s an anniversary of the films coming out or something, but I’ve seen so many people talking about them online right now. Definitely made me want to revisit Panem even more.

Lastly, I finished my first book for the Reindeer Readathon – The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco. The prompt had me find a few words in a word search and then pick a book with one of those words in the title. My word was “bone,” and The Bone Witch has been on my radar for a while now. I really enjoyed it.

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading my second book for the Reindeer Readathon and a book that I received in the TBTB Secret Santa last year – A Danger to Herself and Others by Alyssa Sheinmel. This book has had so many twists and turns and I have loved it so far. It also counts towards Beat the Backlist, so yay!

What do you think you’ll read next?

My next read for the readathon will be Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. I’ve read several of her books and really enjoyed them, plus she’s one of my husband’s favorite authors. I think he’s read nearly all of her books and, according to him, I will really like this one. I didn’t really have any doubts, but I appreciate his endorsement. 🙂
