MONTH IN REVIEW: November 2023

Before I jump into December and the Reindeer Readathon, I should probably go over what I did for November (although I think I missed doing this for October, but not much happened, really).

November Reads

  1. You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day
  2. Mosquitoland by David Arnold
  3. XOXO by Axie Oh
  4. The Key to the Golden Firebird by Maureen Johnson
  5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  6. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
  7. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

I had been seeing people post about The Hunger Games a lot in social media lately and it made me really want to re-read the series. Threw that in on the last week of the month. Now I really want to watch the films again!

Still a lot of days without reading, but that’s the only part of this that I’m disappointed in. With the way my depression has been up and down, it’s a wonder that I am functioning at all sometimes. So seven books for the month is pretty darn good.

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: Ugh. My original challenge for 2023 was to try and read 100 books this year. That is absolutely not going to happen. I am sitting at 79 books right now. I updated my goal on GoodReads to 85 and should be able to more that achieve that as long as my readathon goes as planned.

Complete the Series: I completed this challenge back in September. Huzzah!

Beat the Backlist: My goal was to read 25 books off of my owned TBR lists (i.e., the books that I own but haven’t read yet – there’s a lot). As of September, I had read 22 off my TBR, but have not read anything else in either October or November. I plan on reading at least three more TBR books during the readathon though, so I should be able to complete this one by the end of the year.

A-to-Z Challenge: My friends, I believe I did it! On my last Month In Review post for September, I still had J, K, M, X and Y to finish, and since then I have read Jane Anonymous by Laurie Faria Stolarz, The Key to the Golden Firebird by Maureen Johnson, Mosquitoland by David Arnold, XOXO by Axie Oh, and You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day. Those were the last ones missing, so we can count this as completed!

Blog Updates

Okay, so not so great this month – I had a grand total of two posts. One was a WWW post on November 1st and the other was my post about the Reindeer Readathon yesterday. But hey, at least there were some. That’s fine. December will be better.

Final Thoughts

November wasn’t a bad month reading-wise, although not a great month blogging-wise, but I have high hopes for December. There are a lot of books coming up that I am very excited to read and can’t wait to jump in. Plus the holiday season is starting and my birthday is coming up soon. There’s also a bunch of other projects that I am working up the courage to do something with. Wish me luck!
