Hey everyone! We made it through another week huzzah! Why does that always feel like something to celebrate these days? This week has been hectic for me and, to be honest, I haven’t been feeling well. Nothing COVID related, so don’t worry about that. I think I’m just run down a bit. Work has been very busy – not in a bad way, but just stressful due to a lot going on.
Also a bit stressful – there is a situation going on with the kiddo. I don’t remember if I mentioned this before, but she has been living at my mom’s house for several months. She originally went there because my husband was working from home and she was worried about bothering him (it was a bad situation – he HATED working from home and it made him very unpleasant to be around at times). He went back to work, but she just . . . stayed at my mom’s house anyway. There has been a lot of tension swirling around us, but we are working through it with her therapist and hopefully she will be coming home in the next few weeks. She asked if she could repaint her room over here so we will be doing some redecorating as well. That should be fun.
I am happy that I managed to get back to a semi-normal blogging schedule this week. I also spruced up the place, giving it more of an autumn theme since we are so close. This is my favorite season. I love the leaves changing color on the trees. I love the crisp, cooler temperatures. My goal for next week is to get back to a more regular reading schedule. I won’t say that I’ve gone into a full slump, but it’s looming there. I’ve been doing my best to read at least a little bit each day, so that’s good.
Speaking of that reading, here are reading stats for this past week:
- I read chapters 11 through 32 of Scarlett Fever by Maureen Johnson, finishing this book and also completing this series.
- I read chapters 6 through 15 of The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman.
And . . . that’s it. Not bad, but certainly not where I used to be. My GoodReads challenge for the year was 50 books, and I’m currently sitting at 29 for the year. It’s doubtful that I will make it to 50, but I’m not going to change my goal. I’ll see how close I can get. With all the changes that have happened over the past year, not just in my life but in the world at large, I’m glad I’ve gotten this far.
Not sure if I’ll have a post up this weekend or not since I have plans, but if not, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will be back on Monday.

50 books a week?! If I read 3 it’s an achievement. Do you read them online? Or physical books?
Anyways, I really pray, that tension subsides and your kid and certainly you feel better physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
It has been a tough year and everyday brings a new stress of sorts it seems. But we should celebrate every breath we take and every morning we wake.
Have a wonderful weekend too
Oh no no! The goal was 50 books this year. I could never do that in a week lol! Thank you for your kind words. Things will get better and, until they do, we just take it one day at a time.
I meant a year, sorry. Sometimes my brain takes the wheel and it doesn’t have the map… ๐
๐ My brain does that all the time.
It’s annoyingly hilarious.
Enjoy your reading!
