Hey, look who actually blogged this week! Me!
And I actually finished a book! And reviewed it!
These days, it’s all about the little victories. I’ll take what I can get.
Honestly, it’s been really hard lately, and I know I’m not the only one. Between being anxious about the coronavirus, fibromyalgia fog, family issues (nothing major, just weird from time to time), and a whole host of other things, blogging has been one of the last things on my mind. Which is a shame, because I do derive a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from doing it. When I was working at my previous job, and I could read and blog on the slow days, it was much easier to keep up with. My new job is 100 times better than my old job was though, so that’s a small sacrifice that I am glad to make.
I do wish I could get out of this reading slump though. It is really, really annoying. I’ve only read 10 books this year so far! I had read twice as many by this time last year! I know I shouldn’t compare – things are so different now – but it’s easy to feel bad about it and want to beat myself up. Which is why this week I will celebrate finishing a book. And not just any book, but one of the books I was most looking forward to reading this year. It’s a good thing!
I appreciate you all so much and hope you are all staying safe and healthy! See you next week!
