Greetings and salutations!
It’s been a while since I’ve regularly blogged here and there are a few good reasons for that. The past few months have been a bit tumultuous for me, a combination of holiday seasonal depression and losing my daily routine when I lost my job. Add onto that some family issues and it really hasn’t been conducive to blogging. Or reading for that matter. I only finished two books so far in January (although I should finish a third one for a blog tour in the next week or so). This is not the way I was hoping to start the year, but here we are.
In the past, I would have beaten myself up over something like this, but for right now, I am admitting that I have had to put other things first right now and that’s okay. I was able to keep up with my blog tour obligations, which was the main thing I focused on during the tough times. I’ve been very happy to participate with several blog tour sites and I really wanted to maintain the good relationship I had with them, which is why you’ve been getting blog tour posts and . . . not much else. Oddly enough, I’ve still be regularly getting new followers here and there (Hello!), despite my lack of content. I am very grateful to everyone who takes the time to read my bookish ramblings and I’m especially grateful to those who understand when I sometimes have to take a break.
My current goal is to get back to regular blogging starting this week (today, specifically), but to not get down on myself if that doesn’t happen. I also need to finish up a few NetGalley books before starting on some of the books I have listed on the #StartOnYourShelfathon. As much as my depression is making me not want to do anything at all, I want to try and read for at least 30 minutes to an hour each day. Even when I don’t want to.
Again, thank you for being patient with me and for all the love and support. The book blogging community is the best and I am so glad to be a part of it. To end things on a happy note, here is a picture of Amber Kitty showing you her paws.
