HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Oh man, that was a hoot.
So my GoodReads goal was to read between 75 and 100 books in 2016. Did I get there? Not even close. I made it to 57, which is a respectable total I suppose, just not what I originally had in mind. I usually read like crazy, but this year I had a lot of my evenings taken up. Prime reading time that wasn’t available.
Which isn’t a bad thing at all. I just need to be more realistic in my reading goals if I’m going to be more social.
But anyway, here is the final list of books read for 2016:

So lots of good books, but also a lot of re-reads. I really want to try and read more new books this year. I’ve decided to make my GoodReads goal for 2017 only 50 books. If I feel like I am getting close to completing it, I’ll add more. But I think that is a better goal for me right now, especially since I have other things taking up my time.

Next goal: Completing the Series. Oh dear. This was absolutely terrible.
I had a list of 30 series that I had read in previous years and never finished. I wanted to try and finish 10 of those, as well as finish all series that I began this year. How many did I finish?
Um, one.

I started eight new series this year, but only completed two and decided not to finish one (I did give myself permission to not finish a series if I really didn’t like the first book).
- The Selection series by Kiera Cass – FINISHED (the main series, had no interest in reading any of the offshoots)
- Fire and Thorns series by Rae Carson
- Lorien Legacies series by Pittacus Lore – FINISHED
- Elemental Enmity series by Christie Rich – DO NOT WISH TO FINISH
- The Grisha series by Leigh Bardugo
- The Marked series by March McCarron
- Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

Gah. So many books that I need to read!! It’s getting a bit ridiculous at this point! So now going into 2016, I have 35 series that I would like to finish. My goal will be to finish five, as well as complete any series that I begin in 2017.
So there it is. 50 books for GoodReads, five series for Complete the Series.

I read The Lunar Chronicles this year too and I really enjoyed them! Don’t get bogged down by how much you read, how much you enjoy what you read is far more important 🙂 good luck for 2017!
Have you considered continuing your quest via Audible.com? Since my eyes continue to fail me, I’ve become an avid fan of audios and usually finish 1 or 2 a day, depending on the length. [That’s readily achieved by listening at 3x speed which actually helps me to take in the story more comprehensively.)
Try it! You’ll like it!!
