Hello? Is anyone in here? Boy, this place sure is dusty!

*sneezes*

Wow, it’s been six months since I’ve been to this blog. How is everyone? Good? I hope you’ve all been good. A lot can change in six months, and that has definitely been the case for me.

The main reason I had to stop blogging was because I did several plays with a new theater group I got to be a part of for the first time this year. We did Jesus Christ Superstar, Blood Brothers, and Disney’s The Little Mermaid. To say it was a blast is a huge understatement. It was one of the most freeing, invigorating experiences of my life, but was also a huge time commitment. Plus I got to hang out and make friends with a bunch of awesome new people.

Let’s see, what else. Six months is a really long time!

Oh yeah, this one is pretty major. You remember that job I always talked about, the one where I was so stressed all the time? I tried cutting my hours back, which helped some because I could then pick the kiddo up from school and hang out with her, but it was still too much work, too little me. So last month I took the plunge and quit. I had been unhappy for so long (as followers of this blog know well) and something had to be done. I’m not sure at this time what I will be doing, but I’m going to make sure that it will allow me to spend as much time as possible with the kiddo.

Speaking of that kiddo? My sweet baby who I love so much? That “baby” is getting ready to start middle school in a couple of weeks. Where has the time gone??? The other kiddo will be turning 13 soon, and believe me, he is excited to officially become a teenager. *insert eyeroll here*

Anything else of note? Oh yeah! My family got to go to the World Boardgaming Championships again this year, and it was a total blast. Someone you might know (hint, hint: it’s me) just maybe came home with a 1st place plaque. Maybe. I’m not saying anything. My husband and I also ran one of the games, which was fun, but a lot of work to keep up with everything.

So now that I have some free time, I plan on blogging again. Unfortunately, since life was crazy over the past six months, all my reading goals are somewhere down the toilet right now. Having rehearsals all the time and being stressed out with work and life doesn’t leave a lot of extra minutes in the day for reading. What’s weird is that getting back into reading again is actually hard! Something that I used to do for hours at a time is now something I have to remind myself to do. I don’t like that much. So it will be a slow beginning, getting back into the swing of things. I have read several good books over the past few weeks, so reviews will be along soon, I hope. Also, I am just in time to join in the Seasonal Reading Challenge for Fall – it starts in September. That has always been a good motivation to help me decide on books to read and to help me keep reading consistently.

Now that I’m back, I have no idea what sort of blogging schedule I’ll keep. I’ll most likely do the meme posts like I always did on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at least. The rest, we’ll see how it goes. But it does feel good to be back blogging again. I have missed it.
