The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap what’s happened at the blog, and talk about things coming up. Let’s go!
Weekly Wrap Up
I mentioned last week that the brain fog was getting pretty bad, but I think it’s getting a bit better. Trying to work through that as much as I can by keeping up with all my hobbies: crochet, video games, Korean lessons, etc. I’ve also been talking with my daughter about going to the gym together – she’s been wanting to do that for a while but is lacking in motivation. I can definitely relate! Maybe getting more exercise will help with the brain fog? I certainly hope so. We’re also going to work on doing meal prep for the week once the bad weather passes and we can get back to the grocery store.
Yes, we are in the winter storm watch for the eastern US. Originally, we were supposed to get a lot of snow, which would have been awesome, but now it seems like we’re only going to get a lot of sleet and freezing rain. It’s not as pretty and makes the roads extremely treacherous to drive on, so we’re hunkered down at home for the time being. I just hope we don’t lose power. That would really suck, especially since it’s so cold.
Getting back to the brain fog and trying to stay motivated bit, I have found something that has helped me a lot lately. Strangely enough, it’s considered a video game, since I got it through Steam. It’s called Spirit City: Lofi Sessions. In the “game,” you can set to do lists, create habits, and keep a journal. They also have a pomodoro-style timer that let’s you plan breaks, as well as several light instumental playlists to listen to, as well as a host of ambient sounds to help you focus. The game part comes from finding these cute little spirit companions that keep you company while you’re working. By doing different things in your room, you unlock clues to find more of them. It’s been really fun and speaks to my need for to do lists for EVERYTHING.
Finally, my biggest piece of news for the week – I managed to get tickets to see BTS in concert! I’ve been such a big fan of theirs since 2018 and never got to see them all together (had tickets for their tour in 2020, but we all know how that went). They haven’t had a concert as a group in three years due to the memebers completing their mandatory military service. We have been waiting (mostly) patiently for their comeback, which kicks off with the new album releasing in March and the tour starting soon after. My daughter, my mom and I will all be going to see them in Tampa. We got to see one member, J-Hope, during his solo tour last year, which was amazing, and seeing the whole family back together again? I’m going to cry. I can feel it.
