MONTH IN REVIEW: November

One more month has come and gone – how are we this close to the end of 2025 already! It went by so fast! I’ve been doing a bit better mentally this month, although I think it was mostly due to being super busy at work and not having the time or energy to dwell on anything. I still have that somewhat disconnected feeling, but it’s getting better. I’m hoping that the holidays will help snap me out of it.

But enough about all of that. Let’s take a look at my November progress.

November Reads

  • The Bookshop: A History of the American Bookstore by Evan Friss
  • House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas

Only two books this month, but look at my Bookmory calendar! I went from barely reading at all to reading on over half the days of the month. For how I’ve been feeling lately, that’s HUGE! I wish I had been able to finish House of Sky and Breath, but as I’ve mentioned elsewhere, those books are over 800 pages each, so they are a committment.

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: My goal is to read 65 books this year (was originally 75, but adjusted down in August). I’m currently sitting at 48 books. I know I’m not going to hit 65, but if I can at least hit 50, I’ll be happy.

GoodReads Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all fourteen of the winners of 2024’s GoodReads Choice Awards. I made some progress on this one with The Bookshop, which won the award for Best History/Biography. That brings my total to 10 of 14 books read, which is pretty good! I did decide to DNF The Anxious Generation, which won the award for Best Nonfiction. I’m sure it’s good, but the writing was just too dry and technical for me to enjoy right now. It felt like I was reading a textbook. Since it’s coming off my list (sort of), I’m counting it as the 11th book read (or attempted). The third book of the Crescent City series is the winner for Best Romantasy, and I’m hoping to finish that one as well before the end of the year, which would put me at 12, and perhaps You Like It Darker (Best Horror), which would put me at 13. So I have a plan at least for December!

Complete the Series Challenge: My goal was to complete seven series that I have not finished (you can see my list here). This challenge was completed in August – yay!

Blog Updates

I did get back into blogging this month which, I’ll be honest, felt really good. I only posted 11 times, but still. It’s better than nothing, which is how October went. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Month in Review: 1
  • Sunday Posts: 2
  • Teaser/Top Tens: 2
  • WWW Wednesday: 3
  • Book Blogger Hop: 1
  • Reviews: 2

Snuck in some reviews there, so that was nice! At least I’m not falling too far behind in reviews, since I’m not reading as much. Silver lining?

Shop Updates

This is a new section for my Month in Review where I will let you know about updates to my shop. If you missed it on one of my last Sunday Posts, I finally opened an online shop where I can share some of my handmade crochet items. It’s called Tabby Cat Textiles and you can find me on MakerPlace and Etsy. I’m also on Facebook and Instagram, although I’m not posting there as much as I should.

Here’s a little slideshow of the items that I’ve posted available in November:

This is something that I’ve worked towards for a while now and I’m so excited about it! Please check it out if you are so inclined, or share with your friends. I’ll share more once I get more products listed.

Overall, November was a bit of a whirlwind, but in a good way. I feel like I’m improving in some ways and can see where and how to improve in others. On to December!
