Hello, friends. It’s been a while. I had mentioned in my August Month in Review that I had been feeling very disconnected, very strange lately, and that feeling hasn’t completely gone away. Putting that together with a very strange reading slump means that there hasn’t been much to blog about. I’m trying to turn that around in November (along with a bunch of other things, but that’s neither here nor there). But first, let’s see how September and October went.

September Reads

You’ll notice that I don’t have any reads listed for October. That’s because although I started two books, I didn’t finish any. I’m trying to slowly ease myself back into reading because I do miss it. It’s just that sometimes when my brain feels too busy or too full, doomscrolling on social media is just easier than trying to work out complex plot points. Which is sad, I know.

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: My goal is to read 65 books this year (was originally 75, but adjusted down in August). As of right now, I am sitting at 46 books. According to GoodReads, I am eight books behind schedule. My guess is that unless something drastically changes, I will not hit 65 and I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t a bit disappointed in myself. I’ve decided to not pay as much attention to reaching the goal, but to just get back into regular reading and enjoying reading again.

GoodReads Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all fourteen of the winners of 2024’s GoodReads Choice Awards. I did not read any additional books for this challenge, so I’m still sitting at 9 of 14. I did, however, start one of the books in October (The Bookshop) and started the series that another book is part of (House of Flame and Shadow). So this should hopefully change in November.

Complete the Series Challenge: My goal was to complete seven series that I have not finished (you can see my list here). This challenge was completed in August – yay!

Blog Updates

September started off pretty well, with ten posts, but nothing after that until now. No posts in October. Here’s the breakdown for September’s activity:

This is something I will actively be working on going into November. I really miss blogging, but when the rest of my life gets stressful or weird, it’s also really easy to stop doing.

Overall, clearly September was a weird month and October even more so. Not much going on in the reading and blogging world, but there was some progress on other projects. More to come on those later.
