Sunday Post – September 7, 2025

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap what’s happened at the blog, and talk about things coming up. Let’s go!

Weekly Wrap Up

Not really “weekly” since it’s been over a month since I’ve last done a Sunday Post, but here’s a bit of a recap of what’s been going on since then. At the end of July/beginning of August, my family attended the World Boardgaming Championships. We go to this event every year and it’s always a lot of fun. I didn’t win very much, but that never really matters to me. My favorite games played this year were Azul, Love Letter, King of Tokyo and Five Tribes.

August brought the beginning of the school year and, as such, the ramping up of my work load at the bakery. It is officially the start of fundraiser season, which is my favorite time of year for a few reasons. First, I really like being busy at work. I get more hours, my paychecks are better, and I just enjoy being useful while reveling in the chaos. It’s a good chaos, trust me. Plus, it feels like I am doing good in our community, or at least helping it along.

My most exciting bit of news (to me, anyway) is that I am finally putting one of my other projects into motion and that is . . . opening a store to sell my crochet items. I was originally going to use Etsy, but I think I will be using Makers Space instead. It is affiliated with Michael’s Arts & Crafts Store and I really like their interface. I will share more about it once things are actually up and running. Right now, I am just making up a bunch of stuff to sell and getting ready to take pictures of it all to post. I’ll update my progress here as well as my other social medial channels (such as they are – I probably ought to do something about that if I want to spread the word).

I have another potential project in mind as well, but it will take a lot more effort and will push me much more outside my comfort zone. More on that later if I ever decide to do it.

  1. The World Boardgamers Championship sounds like a fun event!

Good luck with your project launch.

Wishing you a happy reading week

  2. Welcome back. My daughter loves board games and we have SO many. I always liked them too but I feel like most of the time I have too much work to do to just play. She makes a ton of jewelry and buys a ton. It’s very creative but I don’t know if others would enjoy it as much as she does. Mostly she would need to figure out how to make some pieces more sturdy.
