MONTH IN REVIEW: August 2025

If July was a weird month, then August was even weirder. I’ve been feeling very disconnected from a lot things lately, which has made it hard for me to do things that I really enjoy. I sort of disappeared from the blog for most of last month and my reading goals disappeared with it. Still, there was some reading that happened, so let’s take a look.

August Reads

  • The Conjurer by Luanne G. Smith
  • The Glamourist by Luanne G. Smith

Ugh, that’s a lot of empty days with no reading. I think that’s what bothers me the most. It looks so sad! I only read two books BUT these books were extremely helpful challenge-wise. Speaking of which . . .

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: My goal is to read 75 books this year. As of the end of August, I have 43 books read. I have accepted the fact that I will most likely not reach 75 books at this point and I have changed my official goal to 65 books for the year. That seems attainable.

GoodReads Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all fourteen of the winners of 2024’s GoodReads Choice Awards. I did not read any additional books for this challenge, so I’m still sitting at 9 of 14. Still plenty of time to get to the other ones!

Complete the Series Challenge: My goal was to complete seven series that I have not finished (you can see my list here). With finishing the Vine Witch trilogy, I have completed this challenge! Yay! This is the first year that I have ever done this with this challenge and I’m so happy about that!

Blog Updates

This won’t take long, lol.

I made three posts. Three. Month in Review for July, one Teaser/Top Ten Tuesday, and one WWW Wednesday. Meh. With this post, I’ve already posted that much in September and it’s only the 4th, so this month will definitely be better.

Overall, August was a very strange month for me, mentally, emotionally, reading-ly, and everything else. Since we are starting to go into my favorite time of year, I am hoping that things will start perking up in September and going onwards.
