Teasers & Top Tens – April 29, 2025

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week’s teaser comes from Their Fractured Light by Amie Kauffman and Meagan Spooner.

The words echo over and over in my mind, drowning out my other thoughts, keeping time with my footsteps. The background patchwork of noise from street vendors and traffic fades into a dull, throbbing hum beneath the roaring in my ears. I want to run, to put as much distance between me and the Knave of Hearts as I can — but running draws too much attention.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how they wrap up this series.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:

Ten Books with the Word “[Insert Word Here]” in the Title

We could pick any word we wanted and after going through my titles, I decided to go with “Dark.” Turns out, I’ve read quite a few dark titles. This will also include words that are derived from dark, such as “darkness” or “darker.”

  1. Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
  2. Courting Darkness by Yasmine Galenorn
  3. A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
  4. Dark Debt by Chloe Neill
  5. Dark Disciple by Christie Golden
  6. Dark Frost by Jennifer Estep
  7. Dark Matter by Christie L. Rich
  8. Darkest Days by N.W. Harris
  9. A Tale Dark and Grimm by Adam Gidwitz
  10. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
