Teasers and Top Tens for December 10th

Gah! Only fifteen days left until Christmas. Am. Not. Ready!!!

*takes deep breaths*

Teaser Tuesday

Welcome to Tuesday on my blog! I promise to keep the holiday freak outs to a minimum. First up is Teaser Tuesday, hosted by MizB at “Should Be Reading.” Here are the rules if you’d like to play along.

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

She’d fight for him. Wouldn’t she? Honestly, she didn’t know.

The Girl in the Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross

Question for the day: who would you fight for and why?

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted every week by the folks over at “The Broke and the Bookish.” This week’s topic:

Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

You’ll recognize a lot of these titles, mostly because I haven’t made a lot of progress on them since my last time doing this. Come January, however, the yearly goal restarts, so I need to get back into reading gear! So next up on my TBR are:

  1. The Girl with the Iron Touch by Kady Cross
  2. White Cat by Holly Black
  3. Beastly by Alex Flinn
  4. The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
  5. Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier
  6. The Golem’s Eye by Jonathan Stroud
  7. Perdido Street Station by China Mieville
  8. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
  9. Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce
  10. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Now, as you know, I probably won’t get that far, given my new rule to continue reading series that I start. Several of these are book one of a series, which means I will be leaving off the list and continuing on with whichever comes next. But still, at least I have some idea. These have all been sitting on my bookshelf for a while as well, which means they will count towards my TBR challenge for 2014 once January gets here!

2014. That just sounds so weird.

Please leave your teasers and top tens in comments!
